I am a Cinematographer. Photographer. Documentary film maker.

Since my father was an expert in analog cameras and used to repair them professionally, I also got acquainted with this magical phenomenon early in my childhood. So, capturing moments, developing a different look, as well as light and action became my primary concerns.

Having graduated in graphic design from art school, I entered Iran professional cinema as an assistant of lighting in 1994 at the time when analog cinema was in its golden era in Iran. I cooperated as an assistant of lighting and assistant of cinematographer in many important films of that time. Films that received several awards and succeeded in many international film festivals like Cannes, Berlinale, Chicago, etc.

Meanwhile, I experienced acting in one of Mr. Jafar Panahi’s films that also received the Cannes along with many other film festival awards. Following those promising years, I started making short films and documentaries independently.

I have always been interested in photography, light magic and moment capturing. So I spend much of my time capturing special moments under special light effects in different seasons throughout the year. I have also learned much about light and its technology in photography, lighting devices and accessories used since the analog time so far. I always try to inject a soul to digital photos using a combination of digital camera and old lenses. You can see some of them in my Portfolio and the following links if you like:
